If a person started to choke in a room full of people, there would likely be someone who could give the appropriate first aid to save their life. In that same room, there could be someone struggling with their mental health, but how many people would know?
Would you be able to spot the signs that could save their life?
Did you know that 1 in 4 people in England will experience a mental health problem at some point in their life?
The statistics from Mind also show 1 in 6 people in England will experience a common mental health problem, such as depression or stress, during a week.
That means if it isn’t you who is struggling with poor mental health, it’s someone you care about, you work with, or someone else in your social circle.
I have struggled from my own mental health difficulties.
Another person spotted the signs and showed me where I could get professional help.
As we have First Aid for our physical health, we should be providing First Aid for mental health. That is why I became a First Aid for Mental Health trainer.
Who is First Aid for Mental Health training for and why should you do it?
